Lee House

A delicate balance of heritage and modernity, Lee House reinterprets a weathered 1850s fisherman’s cottage into a serene coastal retreat. Respecting the history of its Watsons Bay setting, the design subtly transitions from a traditional weatherboard facade to a contemporary rear elevation, where raw concrete, timber, and steel frame ocean glimpses.

Inside, light and materiality define the experience. Above the dining area, the Franco Albini AS41C pendant (supplied by Mondoluce) takes pride of place. Its mid-century silhouette and adjustable suspension allowing the light to adapt as the space evolves.

"We really like this light because of the adjustable aspect," says Principal Architect Jason Williams of Candalepas Associates. "The light itself has a structure on top that allows the light to move around...and go up and down. So that means that the dining table can move ... and the light can be perfectly positioned."
